Puistokatu 4 is the House of Science and Hope in Helsinki’s Kaivopuisto Park, promoting the rapid cultural change needed in the environmental crisis. Puistokatu 4 is funded by the Nessling Foundation and Tiina and Antti Herlin Foundation.
The three floors of Puistokatu 4 provide a framework for research, activities and events. Puistokatu 4 is also home to the Nessling Foundation. In addition, Puistokatu 4 is home to the Tiina and Antti Herlin Foundation (that owns the property), the Environment Information Forum and a rotating group of researchers and practitioners.
Floor 3 houses the Science Attic, a co-working space, base and meeting place for researchers of the ecological crisis from various fields of science. The research must be anchored in a research organisation. Research and scientific knowledge are the cornerstone of Puistokatu 4, which is why membership of the Science Front is free for researchers.
Everyone is welcome to visit our summer courtyard, the library on the first floor, and restaurant Elm! The courtyard and library are open spaces and do not require any purchases. The venue hosts events open to everyone, and its spaces are available for rent.
