The projects aims to define the factors that affect lichen community composition on deadwood. Both standing and downed deadwood are studied. Broad data on host tree characteristics will lead to a deepened understanding of lichen communities and species. The development of lichen communities in time after tree death is a central question. The project will evaluate ways of maintaining lichen diversity e.g. by studying biodiversity impacts of forest management.
