Genetic diversity and adaptation potential of the first known Antarctica sea ice viruses as model systems for studying the effects of climate changeWe are using the first four known virus isolates from Antarctic sea ice as models aiming to explore Antarctic viral genetic diversity and to determine the effects of different environmental factors on virus infectivity and virus-host interactions. The results will advance understanding of global virus diversity and adaptation limits of viruses in Antarctica.
