Nessling Foundation’s grant call opens in August! This year we are especially looking for projects that increase our understanding of the interfaces between the environment, human health, and the economy.
This past year has reminded us of the unpredictability of natural mechanisms and the place of humans as part of our planet’s ecosystem. In order for humanity to be able to curb the ecological crisis and adapt to the inevitable change, we need a better understanding of the relationship between the environment, human health, and the economy.
The Nessling Foundation’s general grant call opens 10.8., and applications can be submitted until 11.9. This year, in addition to the general grant call, we have opened a special call, where we are looking for multidisciplinary projects on the theme “The economy and human health in the planet’s ecological crisis”. Who can apply in the general grant call?
The Foundation primarily awards funding for young researchers and their solution-oriented research projects. We also support projects for the implementation of researched environmental information, which involve not only researchers but also those who apply the information, such as companies, municipalities, or other organizations. The projects we support are united by the goal of influencing the state of the environment in a systematic and scalable manner.
In the 2020 general grant call, we emphasize research initiatives that seek an understanding of the interfaces between the economy and human health and the environment. However, as in previous years, grants can also be applied for projects that address one or more of the phenomena mentioned below.
- Climate change
- Biodiversity loss
- Sustainability of the use of natural resources
- Water risks
- Chemicalization and pollution
